Design Ideas The delicate, fine textured fronds on the Tassel Fern make it a great addition to a shady woodland setting. Create a Japanese Serenity Garden with mixed ferns, colored foliage trees, and reflectiing ponds. Plant in mass as a groundcover under flowering shrubs or in a container garden to be placed in light-challenged atriums and courtyards. Unfurling fronds add a hint of architectural flavor, making this a versatile plant in any shady area of your garden.
Foliage Color Green
Companion Plants Coral Bells (Heuchera); Lungwort (Pulmonaria); Hosta (Hosta); Columbine (Aquilegia); Bleeding Heart (Dicentra)
CARE
Care Easily grown in fertile, well-drained soils. Water deeply, regularly during first growing season to establish an extensive root system. Once established, water as needed to maintain consistent soil moisture. Fertilize periodically during growing season. Cut back old fronds when new growth begins in spring.
