This first ever purple leaved Hydrangea for American Gardens was discovered in China and brought to us by Dan Hinkley. Beautiful but leggy
by San Juan Islands, September 1, 2017

The colors in the flowers are gorgeous, stunning. The most beautiful soft mix of shades with softest pinks, creams, violets. However, it is very leggy and can look scruffy without some pruning back.

Love the color morph, holds form nicely. Great flowers. A talking point in the garden.

Turns green in summer
by hydrangea lover, January 29, 2016

Have had this plant going on three years. Doesn't keep the purple color during the summer - turns green. Also is a leggy plant that has a hard time supporting itself and leans toward the sun. Have it on the East side of my house where it only gets a little morning sun. Bought for the color so am quite disappointed in it.
