Design Ideas: Blue Fescue is the best small ornamental grass. Its silver-blue coloring and fine texture is appreciated in both Asian gardens and the drought-resistant landscape. Most often planted near rock gardens, around landscape boulders and in dry streambeds. Does equally well as a formal edging plant or in a mass for groundcover effect.

Thrives in average to very lean, loose, well-drained soils; does not tolerate soggy, poorly-drained soil. Water regularly during first growing season to establish root system. Once established, reduce frequency; tolerates moderate drought. Remove old, faded foliage before new leaves emerge. Divide clumps every 2 to 3 years in early spring.
