Design Ideas This columnar pine is a great low-maintenance evergreen for suburban homesites or parks. Very useful to separate multistory homes on very narrow lots. Plant densely for a noise-absorbing, wind-cutting wall of green. To appreciate its natural beauty, plant as a single specimen or in groves of three to five.
Foliage Color Green
Companion Plants Grow Bosnian Pine as a vertical background of evergreen foliage to highlight more spectacular trees in the foreground. Try Eastern Redbud, (Cercis canadensis), Radiant Crabapple, (Malus x 'Radiant')or Red Buckeye, (Aesculus pavia). May also stand nicely with columnar Lombardy Poplar, (Populus nigra 'Italica') or Cologreen Juniper, (Juniperus scopulorum 'Colorgreen').
CARE
Care Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Watering can be reduced after establishment. Feed with a general purpose fertilizer before new growth begins in spring.
HISTORY
Lore Pine is one of the primary woods for provincial European furniture making.
