Description:

A stately succulent for a rustic or Mediterranean landscape. It quickly forms a big, bold rosette with pale blue-grey leaves, that provide a striking contrast with silver, grey or dark green plants. Produces a tall flower stalk at maturity. Handsome drought tolerant accent for a dry rock garden or minimal care hillsides. Evergreen.

Provide lean to average, well-drained soil. Thrives in full sun in cool coastal areas; shelter from harsh afternoon sun and reflected heat in hot summer areas. Drought tolerant once established, but looks best with periodic water in extreme heat. The mother plant declines after flowering; younger rosettes will perpetuate the plant.

History

Agave weberi produces a unique 15 to 20 ft. branched stalk cloaked with tiny yellow flowers at maturity. The mother plant will decline and die flowering but may be perpetuated with plantlets from the flower spike.
