Design Ideas: If everyone lived in frost-free climates, they would all have a Jacaranda tree in the yard. These open-headed trees offer filtered shade ideal for patios, courtyards, and decks. They are proven as street trees and make a great front-yard flowering specimen. A drought-resistant solution.

Provide enriched, well-drained soil. Water deeply and regularly during the first growing season to establish an extensive root system. Once established, reduce frequency; tolerates moderate drought. Fertilize before new growth begins in spring. May be pruned annually to maintain desired size.

History

Due to the prevalence of these trees, the capital of South Africa, Pretoria, is known as Jacaranda city or Jakarandastad in Afrikaans
