Description A tough, heat loving hybrid for small spaces. Narrow, upright, blue-gray leaves contrast nicely with the pale orange flower spikes. This fuss-free succulent thrives in poor soil - perfect for rock gardens, waterwise borders or containers. Excellent for mass plantings. Foliage tips may have a reddish tinge in extreme temperatures. Evergreen.

CARE
Care Grows easily in lean, loose, sandy or rocky, fast-draining soils. Water regularly during the first growing season to establish an extensive root system; drought tolerant once established. Avoid excess water during cooler months. Divide clumps every 2 to 3 years in early spring.
HISTORY
Lore Aloes can withstand periods of drought, by storing moisture in their fleshy leaves, which have a resilient waxy cuticle covering their surface. The genus name Aloe is derived from the Greek word 'alsos' which means the 'bitter juice from the leaves. The flowers of the Blue Elf Aloe are a favorite of hummingbirds.
